You know how it is, dieting after the new year, nothing to look forward to and long nights infront of the telly!!

On our weekly weigh -in at Shirley Valentines ,we used to pay money towards a holiday. The destination GUMBET....TURKIYE it was a holiday of a lifetime where we never stopped laughing.

Our first misshap was a change of hotel upon our arrival at 3:00 am in the morning. Little did i know at the time that 'Reggie Baby' was our taxi driver, but he soon made his intentions known to me the following evening!!. The hotel staff nick-named us 'The Golden Girls' and the holiday was a riot thereon.

Upon our return, I thought that would be the end of the 'holiday romance' but no, he telephoned, he faxed, he sent letters and wanted me to return a.s.a.p. To cut a long story short, I did return on numerous occasions that year and eventually spent more time in Turkey than in the UK!!. A couple of years down the line we were holidaying where we first met and came across this little bar, I said, "that's it, lets go for it" and thats how "Shirley Valentines" Cafe bar came about. The rest is history..........
